Admissions Reader (400417996)
Admissions. The Office of Admissions at the Fuqua School of Business is currently seeking a part-time Admissions Readers. The Admissions Reader is a seasonal, part-time position assisting the Admissions Office staff at the Fuqua School of Business in evaluating and selecting students for the Daytime MBA Program. Duties include reading and evaluating qualifications of prospective students utilizing established standards and guidelines; submitting evaluations for review by the Admissions Committee; attending regular Admissions Committee meetings; and participating in giving feedback on Admissions Committee decisions. Readers conduct evaluative interviews for admissions on an as needed basis as well as counseling sessions providing feedback to denied applicants. A Bachelors Degree is required, however an advanced degree is preferred. A minimum of 2 years experience in admissions, student services or Human Resources related fields is preferred. Library Assistant, Level 6, (400423916)
Ford Library. The Library Assistant for Technical Services works as a member of a team that provides library collections and services to faculty members, staff members and students at the Fuqua School of Business as well as Fuqua alumni, the Duke University community and visitors to the Ford Library. The Library Assistant for Technical Services maintains the displays for the library, assists the Technical Services team and provides assistance with public services. The position requires excellent organizational and planning skills. Additionally, this position requires attention to detail, creative abilities, self-motivation and the ability to follow through. The Ford Library uses technology heavily, so capability with a variety of Internet-based communication technologies is required along with strong skills using Microsoft Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint. The Library Assistant for Technical Services will report to the Ford Library Associate Director and Manager of IT Services. Work requires training and education sufficient to provide a general conceptual understanding of standardized library tasks and effective written and verbal communication skills normally acquired through two years post-secondary education. Information Desk Coordinator, Level 7, (400428407)
Career Management Center (CMC). The Receptionist/ Information Desk Coordinator serves as a key link for the students, employers, and university visitors to The Fuqua School of Business. The position requires someone who thrives in a fast-paced, highly dynamic environment; is able to multitask; has strong communication skills; and understands and delivers high quality customer service. This position is the first point of contact with diverse internal and external customers. Responsibilities include screening/referral of incoming phone calls and providing information; which makes it critical that this person be well informed about events throughout Fuqua. The CMC relies on this staff member to provide prompt, accurate information via phone, fax, email, or in person. Successful candidates will demonstrate the ability to perform the role with consistent attention to detail. Candidates must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite as well as internet interfaces. EMBA Shared Services. The Staff Specialist for Executive MBA (EMBA) Programs works as a member of a team in support of our Executive MBA degree granting programs, the students, and the teaching faculty. The teams are responsible for the operational delivery of the School's three Executive MBA programs- Cross Continent, Global Executive, and Weekend Executive. The Staff Specialist works closely with the team providing overall operational coordination for the program. The position requires excellent organizational, logistics, and planning skills. Additionally, this position requires strong interpersonal and communication skills in order to interact effectively with faculty, students, Duke University offices, corporate guests, and outside vendors. The Executive MBA programs each include a distance learning component, so capability with a variety of Internet-based communication technologies is required along with strong skills using Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Admissions. The Admissions office at The Fuqua School of Business is seeking to fill two Operations Coordinator positions. The Operation Coordinator will participate in a team effort to market, recruit, and select students for The Duke MBA programs. The Operations Coordinator will spearhead the check for completeness effort for application deadlines, act as backup application processor during peak times, and provide support for admission committee and decision communication. Duties include managing communication and processing for all post-decision groups (admitted students, waitlisted students, and denied applicants). Candidates must be very comfortable in a highly computerized environment, including databases, spreadsheets, word processing, web-based applications, and email. Successful candidates will have exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail as well as strong communication, interpersonal and team skills. Executive Assistant, Level 10 (400398475)
Development and Alumni Relations. The Executive Assistant assists the Associate Dean with a variety of tasks to ensure the strategic management of the organization. The Executive Assistant reports to the Associate Dean, Development and Alumni Relations and collaborates with DAR and other Fuqua and Duke University departments on overall strategy, initiatives and events. The Executive Assistant manages international and domestic travel for the Dean and Associate Dean and provides additional support as needed. Bachelor's degree required. Candidates must have a minimum of one to three years of professional experience; experience in alumni relations and development preferred. Customer service and other related areas will be considered. Understanding of international cultures is a plus. This position requires superb communication, excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, sound judgment, flexibility and the ability to work independently in a team environment. Candidates must be able to meet the clerical needs of the Associate Dean, possess strong computer and administrative skills, and be able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment. This position is a direct link to the Fuqua community, our donors and alumni body and must represent the school in a professional manner at all times. Program Coordinator, Level 10 (400415725)
Health Sector Management (HSM). The Program Coordinator will be an integral member of the HSM team, responsible for activities and initiatives that support both Daytime and Executive programs. Responsibilities include initiating, managing, and executing a myriad of events and educational enrichment activities, interfacing with both Executive and Daytime students, aggregating and posting web portal content, interacting with alumni and corporate sponsors, and providing management and coordination across a range of activities. Work requires minimum of one year of directly-related experience in program administration, preferably in academia. Candidates must have marketing and/or communication experience, with a strong relationship/customer management focus, along with requisite skills necessary to plan, coordinate and implement a variety of program activities and events. Interest in healthcare or healthcare related-field desired. The ideal candidate will thrive in fast paced office, take initiative, be a self-starter, provide excellent customer service orientation skills. Candidates must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite 2007, HTML Dreamweaver, Drupal and Morello. Strongly prefer experience with PeopleSoft. Candidates must have strong time management, organization, communication and analytical skills. Demonstrated success planning events is a must. This candidate will report directly to the Managing Director for the HSM program and will work closely with other Assistant Directors for HSM Daytime and HSM EMBA. Bachelor's degree required. Program residencies are held all over the world in places such as China, India, Dubai, London and Russia. The Program Manager works closely with the team providing overall operational coordination for the program. This position requires excellent organizational, logistics, and planning skills. Additionally, this position requires strong interpersonal and communication skills in order to interact effectively with faculty, students, Duke University offices, corporate guests, and outside vendors. The Executive MBA programs each include a distance learning component, so capability with a variety of Internet-based communication technologies is required along with strong skills using Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. The Program Manager will report to one of the Executive MBA Assistant Directors. At least three years of experience working in a professional setting with experience in planning and executing initiatives is required. Experience with diverse populations in a business or higher education setting is desired. The successful candidate will be a person with a high level of maturity, confidence, and strong computer skills. The ability to handle multiple priorities in an independent manner is a must. Superior written and verbal communication skills are foundational in representing the Fuqua School to our constituencies. Associate Director, Student Services and Program Logistics, Level 13, (400425205)
Master of Management Studies (MMS). The Associate Director of the Master of Management Studies: Foundations of Business is responsible for administering all program activities, student services, and program logistics associated with The Fuqua School's MMS program. The Associate Director will assume primary responsibility for the day-to-day execution of all program activities related to the MMS program. As a result, the position requires an individual who is capable of functioning in a highly independent manner and simultaneously managing a large number of tasks. A critical objective for this position is building the MMS program brand and assisting in the creation and implementation of a comprehensive strategy to expand interest in the program. Fundamental to success in this role will be proactive information sharing, collaboration, and communication across all stakeholders within Fuqua so that program objectives are met. The position reports to the Associate Dean for the MMS program and works closely with Fuqua's Office of Admissions, the Career Management Center, and Student Services. Candidates must have three to five years of education administration experience, with significant background in student services. Experience working with an undergraduate student population is strongly preferred. The successful candidate will be a person with a high level of maturity and confidence. The ability to handle multiple priorities in an independent manner is a must. Strong computer skills required. Superior written and verbal communication skills are foundational in representing the Fuqua School to our constituencies.
