Assistant Director, Career Services, Level 11 (400377993)

Health Sector Management. The Assistant Director has responsibility for the career services provided to the program participants enrolled in the Master of Management - Clinical Informatics program at the Fuqua School of Business. In this role, s/he ensures a comprehensive program of workshops, counseling, and other services that reflect the ever-changing interests and needs of Fuqua's globally diverse, Clinical Informatics student body and prepares them to succeed in the competitive job market, both at the internship and graduate levels.  Reporting to the Executive Director of HSM, the incumbent will work closely with other members of the Health Sector Management and Master of Management - Clinical Informatics team; students, student clubs and organizations; a variety of Fuqua departments, centers, and faculty members; other areas of the Duke community; corporate recruiters; and alumni.  Bachelor degree required, however Graduate degree, with an MBA or a Masters in Counseling strongly preferred.  Candidates must possess 5-7 years career counseling, corporate recruiting/HR and/or management experience recommended, with direct supervision in a career center or outplacement practice highly desirable.  Candidates must demonstrate previous experience developing and presenting career development workshops and programs. Candidates must be able to manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.  Strong presentation skills in both formal and informal settings are essential.  Candidates must be very comfortable in a highly computerized environment, including database management, Internet, and e-mail.  Extensive interaction with alumni, graduate level students and corporate recruiters is integral to the position, so strong communication, interpersonal and team skills are essential.   Must have the ability to diagnose and resolve complex problems and their implications within the parameters of Duke University and The Fuqua School's core values, practices, and policies and to apply those parameters to meet the needs of multiple stakeholders in resolving problems.  PAID ON THE MONTHLY PAYROLL

Associate Director for Corporate Engagement, Level 13, (400382382)

Career Management Center. The Associate Director for Corporate Engagement provides leadership for developing partnerships with corporations and organizations that result in meaningful engagement opportunities between them and our students.  In this capacity, the incumbent aligns our engagement activities, supporting resources, and associated career services with Fuqua's key industry verticals and student interests. In addition to those initiatives for which s/he is responsible, the incumbent provides guidance and oversight for corporate engagement activities accomplished by students and other CMC staff. The Associate Director plays a key role in maximizing impact of the career services offerings for students and alumni of the MMS, MBA, and Executive MBA programs. Likewise, s/he also serves as a bridge between Fuqua and corporations/organizations and helps Fuqua to better serve the needs of employers in all sectors. Fundamental to success in this role will be proactive information sharing, collaboration, and communication across the CMC team and within Fuqua to capitalize on the full value of his/her activities. The incumbent actively contributes to achieving the goals of Fuqua and the CMC, promotes and interprets this vision within his/her respective area, and ensures constant progress toward these objectives. The Associate Director co-manages the Program Coordinator for MBA Career Services with another CMC Associate Director.  The incumbent also has ownership for 1 - 2 collateral assignments which add value beyond the immediate area of responsibility and contribute to the department's broader mission. S/he works closely with the entire CMC team; MMS, MBA and Executive MBA program staffs; Fuqua Corporate Relations; student leaders; and others in the Fuqua and Duke communities whose work focuses on external partnerships and engagement. The Associate Director for Corporate Engagement is a new senior staff position in the Fuqua Career Management Center and reports to the Associate Dean for Career Management.  Graduate degree, especially an MBA, strongly preferred with a minimum of 3 to 5 years corporate recruiting, business development, public relations, career services, and/or corporate development experience.
