Health Sector Management. The Assistant Director has responsibility for the career services provided to the program participants enrolled in the Master of Management - Clinical Informatics program at the Fuqua School of Business. In this role, s/he ensures a comprehensive program of workshops, counseling, and other services that reflect the ever-changing interests and needs of Fuqua's globally diverse, Clinical Informatics student body and prepares them to succeed in the competitive job market, both at the internship and graduate levels. Reporting to the Executive Director of HSM, the incumbent will work closely with other members of the Health Sector Management and Master of Management - Clinical Informatics team; students, student clubs and organizations; a variety of Fuqua departments, centers, and faculty members; other areas of the Duke community; corporate recruiters; and alumni. Bachelor degree required, however Graduate degree, with an MBA or a Masters in Counseling strongly preferred. Candidates must possess 5-7 years career counseling, corporate recruiting/HR and/or management experience recommended, with direct supervision in a career center or outplacement practice highly desirable. Candidates must demonstrate previous experience developing and presenting career development workshops and programs. Candidates must be able to manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously in a fast-paced environment. Strong presentation skills in both formal and informal settings are essential. Candidates must be very comfortable in a highly computerized environment, including database management, Internet, and e-mail. Extensive interaction with alumni, graduate level students and corporate recruiters is integral to the position, so strong communication, interpersonal and team skills are essential. Must have the ability to diagnose and resolve complex problems and their implications within the parameters of Duke University and The Fuqua School's core values, practices, and policies and to apply those parameters to meet the needs of multiple stakeholders in resolving problems. Assistant Director, Reunion Giving, Level 12 (400371400)
Development and Alumni Relations. The Assistant Director, Reunion Giving manages Fuqua's reunion fundraising program, including personal solicitation and volunteer management. The Assistant Director develops and implements fundraising activities to ensure the solicitation of all reunion alumni with a specific focus on increasing the number of high-end, multi-year commitments. S/he creates a volunteer structure to encourage alumni ownership of and involvement in Fuqua's reunion giving program through peer to peer solicitation. The Assistant Director, Reunion Giving reports to the Director of Annual Giving and collaborates with the Development and Alumni Relations department (DAR) and other Fuqua and Duke University departments on overall strategy, initiatives and events. This position requires superb communication skills, excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, flexibility, and the ability to work independently in a team environment. This position also requires demonstrated volunteer management skills as well as experience and comfort in interacting with senior level executives. The successful candidate should have direct fundraising experience, possess strong computer and administrative skills, and be able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment. Experience in higher education is preferred. BA/BS degree is required. This position is a direct link to the Fuqua community and alumni body and must represent the school in a professional manner. Associate Dean for Development and Alumni Relations, Level 98, (400356790)
Development and Alumni Relations. Duke University's Fuqua School of Business is seeking to fill the Associate Dean for Development and Alumni Relations position with an accomplished professional with depth in development to leverage and enhance its national and international reputation, deepen relationships with alumni and other key constituents, and augment the breadth and substance of its philanthropic support. The Associate Dean for Development and Alumni Relations reports directly to the Dean of the Fuqua School of Business, and is a part of the dean's six-member team. Reporting to the associate dean are the Directors of Alumni Relations, Major Gifts, Annual Giving and Advancement Services. The division includes 17 FTE's and an operating budget of $2.2 million. The Associate Dean will be a strategically generous and politically capable leader and fundraiser, motivated and inspired by the Fuqua vision and able to translate it to multiple audiences. S/he will be charged with invigorating and enhancing all of Fuqua's development and alumni relations programs and activities. The Associate Dean will be a key contributor in the ongoing efforts to achieve the appropriate integration and alignment of resources, including staff within the department, and in seeking to identify and optimize a wide array of financial resources within the School and the University. S/he will be expected to build partnerships within Fuqua and across the University's leadership with the President, Provost, Vice Presidents, other schools' Deans, and Center Directors to achieve mutually beneficial fundraising results. The Associate Dean will be expected to use all of the building blocks of a highly successful Development and alumni Relations operation and achieve a new level of sophistication and success.
