Puri Keynote Explores Psychology of Entrepreneurship
March 12, 2010
Manju Puri, J.B. Fuqua Professor of Business Administration in Fuqua's Finance area, was an invited keynote speaker at Copenhagen Business School's February 11 conference on Success in Entrepreneurship. The conference, sponsored by the Economics Department at Copenhagen Business School and the Centre for Economics and Business Research (CEBR), brought together entrepreneurship researchers from the United States and Europe.
Puri's talk, "The Economic Psychology of Entrepreneurs" focused on findings from Puri's joint research with Fuqua colleague David Robinson. The pair has used innovative methods to gain new understandings of entrepreneurs' personalities and motivations, and how those traits play out in work habits, risk-taking, and decisions related to health and family life.
A second keynote talk was delivered by Edward Lazear, Professor at the Stanford Graduate School of Business and former Chairman of the Council on Economic Advisors.
More information about Puri's research is available here.
